Catharine Coleborne is Professor and Head of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Newcastle, Australia. With Matthew Smith, she edits the Mental Health in Historical Perspective series. Her previous publications include Insanity, Identity and Empire: Colonial Institutional Confinement in Australia and New Zealand, 1870-1910 (2015).
