Football excites a good part of world population; at the same time, it is completely indifferent to a large part of it, mainly to women. Football fans cannot understand how comes that the latter do not share their passion and remain indifferent to the emotions offered by the round goddess. In their turn, those indifferent to football they do wonder when they see hundreds of millions of people getting ecstatic for a football event. In this book we will attempt to understand the distinguishing features of football and to present an dynamic comparative image of the fans, of theirs identities, if theirs relations with the team and of theirs practices in and outside the football ground.

He has written several articles on the sociology of sports.Pandelis Kiprianos is a Professor of History at the University of Patras. He has written articles and books on the history and on the sociology of sports.
