This book presents an overview of the global legal challenges to e-commerce development with emphasis on West Africa Economic Community (ECOWAS). It makes a comparative analysis of the adequacy and effectiveness of the emerging e-commerce legislation in the United States of America (USA), the European Union (EU) and the West Africa Economic Community, in promoting and facilitating unhindered e-commerce development regionally and internationally. The book primarily focuses on the key legal challenges surrounding electronic contracting and electronic signature in order to deepen the understanding of the key issues that should be addressed in formulating enduring uniform e-commerce legislation for developing nations and regional economic blocks as they struggle to take advantage of e-commerce to boost trade and commerce nationally and internationally.
