This study discusses employee rights over inventions and innovations developed during the course of employment. The study considers the legal framework of Kenya, Germany and Sweden and how each country has provided for the rights over inventions that arise out of the employment situation. The study makes useful contributions on the protection of technovations under Intellectual Property. The study will prove useful to students, practitioners and generally anyone looking to expand their knowledge on employee creations that qualify for legal protection.

Ms Martha Ndungu is a legal researcher, consultant and Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She was educated at the University of Cape Town South Africa where she obtained a Masters Degree in Intellectual Property Law. She is a practising advocate in Kenya and is currently working on her next publication.
