This book is a research about the two vocabulary teaching methods or approaches which are teaching individual words and getting word meaning from context. These two approaches are compared. The research was conducted with EFL students from a public university within one semester by the same teacher. The researcher expected that there is significant difference between the two, and teaching students by encouraging them to get the word meaning from context will yield a better result than by using the other method. However, the result of this study is not as expected - it shows the similar outcome.

I majored English at Mahidol University. Then I furthered my study in Master's Degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language Program at Thammasat University. I am interested in teaching, especially teaching vocabulary. Since I considered vocabulary is the main problem for EFL students, I then decided to do this research to find out the solution.
