This book aims to outline the fabric of human dissection which has a long history of 2400 years starting from 3rd century BC. It tries to peek into the past, present and possible future of human dissection as an educational tool in anatomical sciences. It emphasizes on the unethical practices prevalent in the domain of human dissection in Renaissance Europe, analyzes on the relevance of cadaveric dissection in anatomical education of 21st century and finally reflects on the respectful handling of the human cadaver as the first teacher in anatomy by anatomists across the globe.
Autorenporträt
Sanjib Kumar Ghosh is presently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy, Employees State Insurance Corporation Medical College, Gulbarga, Karnataka, India. He teaches anatomy, histology and embryology to first year medical students and his research interest is in anatomy education, gross anatomy and history of anatomical sciences.
