In this study, Problem-Based Learning (PBL) environment is chosen to study the impact of Authentic learning strategies on the learning and working competencies of engineering students. PBL environment is a kind of authentic leaning strategies, which include some key elements such Activities and Facilitators. Also, it is believed that PBL environment is commonly used by the universities in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Therefore, the study also examines the impact of PBL environment with technology on the learning and working competencies of engineering students in higher education and multi aspects, including PBL, Activities, Facilitators and Technology will be measured.

Dr. Yau is an instructor in the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management at City University of Hong Kong. He got the PhD at the University of Queensland, Australia. His research interests include organizational learning, quality management, school management in higher education, etc.
