Gardens and flowers have been a core subject of Marina Schinzs career. This found expression in her previous books Visions of Paradise, The Gardens of Russell Page, and A Tuscan Paradise. Marina Schinz , geboren in Zürich, zog 1964 nach New York, wo sie während fünf Jahren für den Modefotografen Erwin Blumenfeld (1897-1969) arbeitete und danach ihre eigene Karriere als freie Fotografin verfolgte. Ihre Gartenfotografie wurde unter anderem in Magazinen wie Time Life Books, The New York Times Magazine, Architectural Digest, House & Garden, House Beautiful, Town & Country und Architektur und Wohnen und in ihren früheren Büchern Visions of Paradise, The Gardens of Russell PageThe Book of Sweets und A Tuscan Paradise veröffentlicht. Sie lebt heute in der Nähe von Piacenza, Italien.
