Development is now driven by globalisation and powered by ICT. Integration of ICT is growing. Consequently, rapid generation of toxic e-wastes is posing serious environmental health challenges in developing countries, which have become dumping grounds for e-waste materials, but lack environmental regulations and waste management capacity. Electronic Waste Toxic Chemical Components Management in Africa: Environmental Health Significance and Extraction-Recyclability of Lead and Beryllium Oxide recognizes Pb and BeO as the toxic chemical components that occur in environmentally significant quantities in e-waste materials. It establishes their environmental health significance (acute toxicities) and investigates their recyclability by various extraction techniques.
