Beschreibung

In a power systems, when rotor step change is occurred then the voltage of the generator is reduced to a very low magnitude. When voltage magnitude falls below the desired voltage called voltage sag, which is one of the most severe problems to the power system and it causes severe disruptions and results in substantial economic loss. To control and compensate for the voltage drop, Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTs) is used. This book presents the comparative performance of PI and PID controller scheme with Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTs) devices, such as Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM), Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) and Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) in terms of improvements in transient stability, extenuation of system oscillations and furnishing voltage support in single machine infinite bus system (SMIB). The performances of the system with PI and PID controllers which are the combination with STATCOM, SSSC and UPFC are analyzed using matlab simulation software (Simulink). Rotor angle deviation and speed deviation has been analyzed for PI and PID with UPFC, SSSC and STATCOM.
