In modern society, due to the high crime rates and high number of traffic accidents the feeling of insecurity and threat is increasing. The need for the establishment of defence and prevention mechanism has encouraged studies to develop an automatic recognition system, have the ability to recognize vehicles at a certain distance. Number Plate Recognition technology has been widely applied in many different transportation applications such as enforcement, vehicle monitoring and access control. This book deals with recognition of license number of vehicle number plate and these recognized characters are transmitted through secure network channel by using encryption mechanisms.
