This book has almost all the major areas of mining from the gradual development of mining, prospecting to production and finally closer of the mine following the statutory requirements. The other auxiliary operations such as, drilling, blasting, support, ventilation, materials handling etc. are also included. In addition, some other topics discussed are rock and soil mechanics, mining induced subsidence, mine instrumentation, laboratory testing methods on rock and soil which are useful for industrial purposes and finally some knowledge on coal chemistry and coal bed structure.The book contains a large number of model questions with solutions,number of bibliography, conversion tables and prefix.It is hoped that this book will work as mentor for the mining beginners and compendium for mining professionals.
