The subject of clinical biomechanics needs little introduction for an orthodontists. The purpose of his contribution was to present orthodontic biomechanics in a format that is directly applicable to the clinical treatment of our patients. Starting with the fundamentals and the very basics, it then goes on to explain how the principles of biomechanics can be applied to clinical practice at various stages of treatment. The author has elaborated on how, understanding these basic principles and applying these principles, different options can be selected and combined instead of restricting to any one philosophy with limited number of choices. Hence concluded that in order to understand the vast topic of biomechanics its important to start right from the basics. Other than biomechanics, he has shown a lot interest in cost effective treatment protocols in terms of finances towards the orthodontic treatment. Also has spread his interest widely in all fields of orthodontics namely clinical diagnosis, oral hygiene, various bonding techniques to prevent white spots lesions, patient compliances and retention and various Ortho-Surgical interventions.

Dr. Krutika M Gaitonde is a great learner and practitioner. She has graduated from Rural Dental College, Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, Loni with a bachelor's degree, BDS in 2012, and a MDS degree in the specialty of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics in 2017. Currently is working in Mumbai, India as a private clinician.
