Esthetic dentistry is a discipline within dentistry in which the primary focus is the modification or alteration of appearance of patients oral structures, in conjunction with the treatment and prevention of structural, functional, or organic oral disease. Under this definition, successful esthetic dentistry adheres to the principle that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. The key to the successful results in esthetic dentistry lies in a saying by Dawson (1995) i.e.'' If you know where you are & you know where you want to go, getting there is easy.'' Facial beauty is based on standard esthetic principles that involve the proper alignment, symmetry, and proportions of the face.
