Ozone layer forms a thin shield in the upper atmosphere, protecting life on the earth from the suns ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Scientists found evidence that the ozone layer was depleted due to increased industrialization thereby resulted in increased UV radiation reaching the earths surface. In human, prolong exposure to UV radiation may result in acute and chronic health effects on the skin, eye, liver disorder, brain and immune system. We are being exposed to radiation day in day out. Nature has blessed us with products that can be included in out diet to protect us from hazardous effect of UV. One of these products is Turmeric which has been used in both Chinese and Indian traditional medicines due to its property. This book therefore, provides necessary information on the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation on vital organs in Human and livestock and how these problems can be prevented and cured. The analysis and plates in this book shed more light on how to achieve this. This book should be useful to professionals in Human Medicine, Livestock Management and Health fields and everyone on earth who considered organic product as the best way out.

Mr. Baki, Oladimeji Ibraheem is an Agricultural Extension Officer (Nigerian Social Empowerment Scheme, N-Power). He studied Animal Production & Health in Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso, Oyo State. He later proceeds in the Federal University of Technology, Akure for his M. Tech. in Animal Reproduction & Environmental Physiology.
