This book illustrates how the Assyrian people in Iraq could maintain and transmit their language and heritage into their children generation after generation for centuries successfully despite of a long contact with many other languages and cultures which came in and used together side by side on the same land. This book helps researchers and those who have an interest in minority languages and cultures which are in endangered situations and on their way into loss.

Tiba Alobaidi is assistant instructor at Aliraqia University in Baghdad-Iraq . Born in Baghdad in 1987. She took her undergraduate degree from Al-Turath University College in Baghdad-Iraq and then earned her MA from Middle East University in Amman-Jordan. She is a member of Iraqi Tranlators Associate. Her research interests are in sociolinguistics.
