ERRORS IN EDUCATED NIGERIAN ENGLISH USAGE is a corpus-based study which investigates errors of English usage among younger and older users of educated Nigerian English. The study analyses syntactic features which are typical errors of Nigerian English(NigE). Findings confirm the assumption by scholars that the level of proficiency in English increases with the level of education, age and experience of usage. The relevance of the International Corpus of English (ICE) Nigeria Corpus as a dependable source of data for studies in Nigerian English has been demonstrated. This is an indispensable resource book for local and international researchers.

Ifeyinwa Obiegbu holds a PhD in English Language and is currently a Reader at the Department of English and Literary Studies of the University of Nigeria Nsukka. Her research interests lie in the areas of Sociolinguistics, Pragmatics and English Language grammar.
