The book "A Descriptive Account of Ahan Verb Phrase" is a must read for all who want to know about one of the endangered languages in the Southwest of Nigeria. The author has given a good treatment to one of the minor languages spoken in Nigeria by looking at an aspect of Ahan language. The writer has shown that there are other languages in the southwest of Nigeria; apart from the Yoruba language which many scholars believe only exist in that part of Nigeria. The book is written in a lucid and easy to read language which make it well understood for those that have interest in language and linguistics. It is therefore a must read for all those who want to know more about African languages especially the ones that are highly endangered.

Dr Akanbi was born in the Southwest of Nigeria. He attended the University of Ibadan, and Ekiti State University where he obtained his Ph.D. in Linguistics. He is presently a senior lecturer in the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages, Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria.
