This book deals with comparing English and Arabic grammars from a systemic perspective.It tackles systemic aspects in English grammar such as the elements of the English clause ,the three metafunctions: ideational ,interpersonal,and textual; and their systems.The book also sheds light on the Arabic grammar by applying the systemic grammar to it. A contrastive study is made to show the similarities and differences between the two languages.

Dr.Hala Najim is a professor of English Functional Grammar and Contrastive studies at the Department of Translation, College of Arts, University of Mosul. She taught English Grammar and Contrastive Grammar. She has taught English Functional Grammar and Contrastive Analysis to postgraduate students at the Departments of Translation and English.
