Previous studies suggest that Ashkenazi Levites stem from a single Jewish Levite male PROGENITOR MODAL. His Y haplogroup was defined downstream as R1a-Y2619, he lived C. 6th-7th Century CE., and his location was the Rhineland. This book suggests possible avenues by which the Levite PROGENITOR MODAL arrived in the Rhineland. Previous studies suggest that the Ashkenazi Levite PROGENITOR MODAL emerged following a period of about 1,500 years of a phylogenic bottleneck era which followed the Ashkenazi Levite FOUNDER era, and that the FOUNDER lived circa 7th-8th Century BCE in the Middle East. This book suggests that the Ashkenazi Levite FOUNDER location was in the town of Jerusalem, the capital of the biblical Kingdom of Judea, and that the Levite FOUNDER was a member of the Levite caste who served in the First Jerusalem Temple. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is part of the largest Levite sub-cluster, R1a-Y2630. His line is 8 STR mutations away from the Levite PROGENITOR MODAL, at Y111 STRs, displaying high 93% proximity.
