Astrid Lindgren hat mit ihrer Literatur bis in die Gegenwart Generationen von Kindern geprägt. Das Thema Sterben und Tod durchzieht ihr literarisches Werk. Nicht nur in 'Die Brüder Löwenherz', sondern auch in 'Ronja Räubertochter' und selbst in den humorigen Büchern über 'Pippi' und über 'Michel' ist dieses Thema präsent. In dem vorliegenden Band wird die theologische Dimension des Werkes von Astrid Lindgren erschlossen. Astrid Lindgrens Texte können als 'christophorische Literatur' verstanden werden und sie sind anschlussfähig an die Kommunikation des Evangeliums. Der Agnostizismus Astrid Lindgrens wird als 'religionsoffener Agnostizismus im Kontext des Christentums' charakterisiert. Indem Astrid Lindgren von den Kindern her denkt und schreibt, inspiriert sie eine an den Kindern orientierte Kirche. [Religion in Childrens Literature. Astrid Lindgrens texts can be understood as 'christophoric literature', as compatible with the communication of the Gospel. The agnosticism of Astrid Lindgren is characterized as a 'religiously open agnosticism in the context of Christianity'. By writing from the viewpoint of children, Astrid Lindgren inspires a child oriented church.
