Beschreibung
Protestants expect their church to support them when they are going through periods of upheaval or at turning points in their lives. This is why the significance of baptism, confirmation, wedding and funerals is important for their view of the church. Sometimes ministers see these official acts as unloved activities which are a duty or even an unreasonable demand. In his book, Christian Albrecht reveals an understanding of official acts which conveys the high esteem in which official acts are held by members of the church along with an appropriate assessment of basic church tasks. The author gives guidelines for an independent and responsible understanding of official acts. He shows that it is not necessary to debase those ideas which are expressed in the need for official acts.
