Mothers emotional intelligence (EI) plays a vital role in child development. The purpose of the present study was to analyze the impact of mothers emotional intelligence on the development of child behavior and self- esteem. The sample involved 250 participants (mothers and corresponding children) from Multan, Pakistan through purposive sampling technique. Emotional Quotient Inventory was used to check the level of emotional intelligence of mothers. Rothbart Child Behavior Questionnaire (by parents) was used to check the child behavior. Results indicated that (1) mothers emotional intelligence has strong impact on child self-esteem empowering the society with psychologically healthy kids, (2) mothers emotional intelligence has influence on child behavior patterns; higher EI leads to healthy behavior patterns in children,(3) girls self-esteem has been found affected by mothers emotional intelligence as compared to boys, (4) mothers low EI triggers behavioral problems in boys as compared to girls, (5) highly educated mothers have higher levels of emotional intelligence,(6) emotional intelligence of mothers has found to be varied in different environments.
