The study of the knowledge on marriage and the family might be very useful for the married couples and the (prospective) parents in understanding the changes in marital relationship during transition to parenthood so as to lead a healthy and happy marriage and family life. It is recommended that during the accelerated changes in this globalized world in all areas of life, marriage and the family relations should be visualized in its ethnic and socio-cultural perspectives with modern and positive outlook, keeping in view the respect for the fundamental human rights of all men, women and children endowed by all religions and civilized societies.

GULZAR AHMAD (PhD) is an HEC Professor and Counselling Psychologist. Dr Gulzar participated in over 80 national and international conferences and workshops, and gave presentations in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Dr Gulzar is also the President of Pakistan Council on Family Relations (www.familyrelation.org)
