These results combined may be explained by the fact that overconfidence in participants of both studies is more related to the difficulty of measuring confidence judgments rather than their moderate depression. Thus, our finding is further support for the fact that people usually show different levels of confidence judgments with difficulty of tasks. (Gilbert et al., 1996; Klayman et al., 1999; Olsson, 2014). Another possible explanation is that peoples mood might not be influenced by some of their cognitive activates, such as confidence judgments (Allwood, & Bjorhag, 1991).
