In her book Music Therapy -A Means for Depth Psychological Work the author presents six chapters. The first chapter discusses the development of music therapy in Bulgaria and the second one provides an overview of the development of music therapy as a scientific discipline in Europe and the world and introduces some of the main music therapy schools. In the remaining four chapters Ahtarova presents cases and shares her psychotherapy experience from different periods of her professional development as a psychotherapist using three music therapy approaches in her psychotherapeutic practice.

Liliya Ahtarova is a Director of the Music Therapy Institute, Sofia and a former Chair of BAM. She is a registered psychotherapist, certified music therapist and art therapist, qualified member and founder of the Bulgarian Association of Music Therapy and a qualified member of the Bulgarian Association of Psychotherapy.
