A novel coupling technique for renewable energy sources for isolated DC grid is proposed. In order to minimize the ripples of the converter output voltage and hence reducing the filter size, the carrier signal waveform of each converter is phase shifted from each other by a predefined phase shift. The value of the phase shift of each carrier waveform is determined according to the number of converters/sources used in the system. As an application, a subset comprising of a PV module connected with a boost DC-DC converter along with its MPPT control is referred to as phase. A system consisting of two PV modules each connected with its own boost DC-DC converter along with its MPPT control is referred to as two-phase system. A two and three-phase PV systems are designed and simulated using Matlab/Simulink.The proposed system using fuzzy logic MPPT controller is examined for various changes in insolation levels and temperature.
