Free Logic is an important field of philosophical logic. It appeared first in the 1950s, and Karel Lambert was one of its founders and coined the term. The volume begins with three of Lamberts most recent essays. These papers are followed by a dialogue between Karel Lambert and Edgar Morscher on free logic. The second part of the volume contains papers by Peter Simons and Edgar Morscher on free logic. A systematic and historical survey of free logic with an annotated bibliography of works on free logic completes the book.

Edgar Morscher,geb. 1941, Studium und Promotion (1969) an der Universität Innsbruck; Professor für Philosophie seit 1979 an der Universität Salzburg, deren Rektor er von 1993-1995 war. Forschungsschwerpunkte: Ethik, Analytische Ontologie, Philosophische Logik und Semantik, Gegenwartsphilosophie. Peter Simons, geb. 1950, Studium und Promotion (1975) an der Universität Manchester; 1995-2008 Professor an der Universität Leeds, 2008-2017 Inhaber des Moral Philosophy-Lehrstuhls, Trinity College, Universität Dublin.
