Achieving well-being in a diverse society is a function of learning to live together in mutual peace through a life of justice. Deconstructing education, that is, opening up the possibilities of education with a view to promoting a just society, is at the heart of Jacques Derrida's tour de force. Thus, rightly understood, deconstruction is truly evocative of and educative in the pursuit of social justice. Deconstruction is inextricably political in that it professes Derridas ethics of the other, which is his commitment to societys vulnerable members. By advancing the view that deconstruction teaches people to be just, this book aims to contribute to the ongoing discussion of examining and expanding the inclusive meaning of deconstruction for education. Accordingly, the significance of Jacques Derrida for educational philosophy is his lasting insight into political pedagogy as education for justice.

Jeffrey M. Centeno is director of the Planning, Quality Assurance, and Communications Office (PQACO) at Saint Louis University (SLU), Baguio City, PHILIPPINES. His areas of interest include strategic management and philosophy of education. He received his Ph.D. from De La Salle University (DLSU) - Manila, PHILIPPINES.
