Beschreibung

This book explores Kierkegaardian concepts within pop culture. Though the relationship between Kierkegaard and pop culture may not have a long history, it is significant and ever-growing. Such a study illustrates the continued relevancy of Kierkegaardian thought and its impact on modern society. Each chapter explores a distinct Kierkegaardian concept, such as despair, anxiety, the single individual, and faith. The book covers Kierkegaards lesser-known signed works, in addition to his more famous works. The book also addresses a wide range of pop culture, from a childrens television show to a serial killer drama, from anime to a billboard topping album, from a sitcom to a summer blockbuster movie. By examining the intersection of Kierkegaard and pop culture, this study provides insight into how Kierkegaardian thought is being developed in new ways and in different contexts.
