This book brings together key questions in reflexive transition research: What constructions of difference accompany the identification, processing and production of social phenomena such as transitions in the life course, and what connections are negated in the process? Barbara Stauber examines constructions of difference in postcolonial discourse, in the relationship between gainful employment and care work, in current gender debates, and in the context of friend-foe constructions, and derives impulses for research, educational practice, and socio-political engagement.
