Ageing is a normal inevitable process that occurs in the life of all humans. Globally, there is an increase in the absolute number of older persons. This will result in an increase in old age dependency ratio in years to come which has social and economic implications for individuals and the government. The care given to older persons has been eroded by many factors such as urbanization and modernization. For an older person to cope effectively with challenges that come with ageing, the individual needs to have adequate knowledge of ageing challenges and the coping skills. The author provides insight into these concepts with unique perspectives and evidence based practices.
