Multimedia and its applications have been quite popular in the field of education these days. In multimedia assisted teaching, the instructional content is delivered using multiple modes that includes visual and auditory information and learners use this information to construct knowledge. In such classes, learners get exposure to authentic language; can enjoy the new style of learning that encompasses vivid pictures, appealing videos, sound and well-done graphic works. It can help in maximizing the multiple intelligence of the learners and can cater to the different styles of learning. This study proposes and bases itself on the assumption that the continuing advances in multimedia technology can be integrated into the teacher education programmes so as to provide training to the trainees for the development of their skills (esp. speaking skills). The study analyzed the effect of multimedia on the classroom interaction of the Teacher Training Certificate (TTC) Course trainees of Kerala.
