Beschreibung
This study attempts to reframe the debate upon the characteristics of effective secondary schools in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) context, together with the effectiveness of their leaders from the perspective of these schools stakeholders, namely principals, teachers, students and parents. In particular, it aims to identify the key factors that contribute to effective schools in UAE secondary education and to outline the strategies for improving schools and school leadership professional development requirements.

Nafla Mahdi Al Ahbabi is a Senior Specialist at the Training and Development Division, ADEK, UAE. She holds a doctoral degree in School Management from Glasgow University, UK, a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Research from the University of Manchester, UK, in addition to a Master of Human Resources Management from Abu Dhabi University.
