Beschreibung

This study explores the situation of rescued trafficked children who have been reintegrated into the formal educational system. In particular, it examines the child rights concerns and support systems and how they shape the schooling of rescued trafficked children. The study adopted the qualitative methodology and and the case study design, with its interpretivist underpinnings. The study found that the school environment, punishment; including corporal punishment, peer bullying, discrimination are among the key human rights concerns that affect the schooling of rescued trafficked children. It also emerged that some rescued trafficked children have no sustainable system of support for their schooling. The study concludes that the absence of a safe school environment and a sustainable system of support could lead to the drop-out and eventual re-trafficking of rescued trafficked children.
