Beschreibung
This study involved an investigation of the effectiveness and profitableness of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach in developing mathematical communication and problem-solving skills of six children diagnosed with autism but classified as high-functioning. The RME approach, a research-based instructional pedagogy based upon real life experiences was implemented over the course of two months.

Dr. Maria Theresa Kalaw is a professor at De La Salle Lipa College of Education, Arts and Sciences where she has been teaching for the past 20 years. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education major in Mathematics degree from the University of the Philippines Open University. Her research focuses on Mathematics and Special Education.
