This project is carried out at a school in Cucuta, Colombia in which public and private education policies coexist and allow a close contrasting view in EFL academic processes of 11th grade. This study was developed as a descriptive case study following the paradigm of the qualitative research. It was guided by the research questions: How do public and private education policies influence EFL academic processes of 11th grade and, what implications are derived from the characterization of public and private education policies in EFL academic processes of 11th grade. The general objective was todescribe the implications derived from the characterization of the public and private education policies in EFL academic processes of 11th grade.The participants were an English coordinator, two 11th grade English teachers and eighteen 11th grade students. Among the main findings were: unequal characteristics of public and private education policies directly impact the development of the EFL academic processes of 11th grade.
