Why Chinese international students are facing academic difficulties in American higher education? This is an urgent question to be answered because the population of Chinese international students flocking to American higher education will continue to grow in the recent future. Under this circumstance, studying causation of the challenges that Chinese students are confronting in an American university is extremely urgent. The author found that Chinese students poor academic performance and other misconduct in the U.S. should be traced back to students preparation phase from home.

Mr. Dongfang Liu was an assistant principal in a Chinese international high school. Currently, Mr. Liu is a doctoral student and research assistant at the University of Northern Colorado. Mr. Liu has conducted research on education reform, school finance, low SES students' school success, language education, and international higher education.
