Beschreibung
The idea of pedagogically reconsidering the figure of the maternal mother, that I nurtured in my heart and in my mind had some positive repercussions. Indeed certain preconceptions resulted as being rather relative as well as a number of basic premises were elaborated for an informed reading of the "mother's mother's" care and educational practices. In such a context, the maternal grandmothers peculiarity is that of cooperating, even more than other grandparents, to the psychic and affective integration of the grandchild, through her presence and her educa-tional and caring practices (which are renewed or de-structured from mother to mother) as well as through her family tales and narrations, which, when grandchildren become adults, will form the cherished memories of the birth home.
