This book examines how an English terminology can be used to describe European school systems. By exploring the educational revolution of nineteenth and twentieth-century Europe, this book makes two significant contributions to the international history of education: a comprehensive analysis of over 115 English language keywords, and a reinterpretation of the expansion of primary and secondary schooling. This book will appeal to readers interested in deepening their understanding of the changing historical landscapes of European educational systems and how these may be presented using the medium of the English language.
