In Pakistan, the concept of Health insurance is still in it's infancy. The lack of awareness among the general public has become a huge cause for concern in the third world countries where the provision of health services is hindered by extremely high costs, inadequate resources, incomplete facilities, conflicts, cultural differences and many more. This in turn affects the prevalence of various life threatening and non life threatening diseases in a community. This book focusses on the lack of knowledge and education among the public regarding the use of health insurance and the other payment modes in the Health sector.

Dr. Amer Waseem specializes in Public health and Business Administration in Health Services. He is currently working in the Health Sector of Pakistan dealing with the issues and dangers (both technical and administrative) the provision of health Care faces which ultimately affects the community as a whole.
