Since the first World War, battle tanks constitute one of the basic combat assets of the army, most often deciding on their force of impact. Tanks are being used for supporting the infantry (mechanized units nowadays), especially in destroying resistance field points and for fighting armoured combat vehicles of the enemy. A sequence of factors comprises the combat efficiency of a contemporary battle tank, as follows: the armoured protection, fire control system, layouts of the data transmission and commanding system, the manoeuvrability etc. However, weaponry is still the most important, thus classifying battle tanks as the main factor in direct combat on the contemporary battlefield. In the monograph I presented my own conception and results of dynamic tests of new subcalibre projectiles with segmented penetrators which are characterized by an increased resistance to bending forces keeping the cohesion of the penetrator during penetration process.
