The art of theatrical singing, be it an operatic endeavour, the enterprise of musical theater or a rocker screaming a high C, is a wide-ranging and very complicated issue. The vocalist has prepared for years before his performance, his whole life, really, and he will continue to do so for the rest of his days. He will be asked to hold heavy props, wearing five layers of clothing, while feeling, yes, living his role, giving it the right interpretation. While all this is happening, the artist is probably singing a high aria that will necessity him to reach tones that require amazing stamina. He has to put aside his colleagues criticism, his endless search for work and the pressure his boss is putting on him. This performance is just about his craft, his soul, the story in question and the audience.
