Even though conference tourism is young, it has emerged as one of the dynamic sectors of the global tourism industry. This industry has a potential in providing multiple benefits. Following the establishment of United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and Organization for African Unity (OAU) present African Union (AU); Ethiopias capital Addis Ababa has been hosting important conventions concerning Africa. In spite of this long history of its existence conference tourism remains underdeveloped. This book attempts to discover the challenges and opportunities of conference tourism development in Addis Ababa.

Kalleab Belachew is a fulltime Lecturer at Aksum University in the Department of Archeology and Heritage Management. He has attained his bachelor degree in History and Heritage Management and his Masters Degree in Tourism and Development from Addis Ababa University.
