A three-part book reflecting on exhibitions, time, display, and writing, taking an anthology of texts and interviews by designer and curator Prem Krishnamurthy as its starting point. Writings by Prem Krishnamurthy from 2009-2024 are framed by materials documenting two exhibition-like experiments: K, A Year with P. Krishnamurthy (KW Institute for Contemporary Art, 2018/2019) and Endless Exhibition (Kunsthal Gent, 2019-ongoing). Each section of the book is designed by a different designer or teamAnn Richter, David Knowles, Mark Foss and Valentijn Goethals, giving the entire volume a sense of multiplicity. Taken together, Past Words looks at how design, curating, exhibition-making, and language itself can become formats for speculation and ways to create new realities.
