In this book, the concept of urban transformation is expanded and discussed. The reason for this is to bring a more comprehensive (local, national, international) and multidimensional (historical, current) approach to the urban transformation interventions that have been defined in various researches such as urban renewal, conservation, rehabilitation and revitalization in the last fifty years. is required. This book describes all the processes of physical, social and economic transformation of urban parts as the phenomenon of urban transformation. In addition to urban areas that have been transformed by political and legal instruments in recent years, processes that have been transformed spontaneously or transformed by external factors and trigger social transformations in the last fifty years are accepted within the scope of urban transformation. This definition covers both physical and social dimensions, including the transformation of urban areas with slum development, the development of urban fringing areas as mass housing areas, the restructuring of collapse areas or the preservation and revival of historic urban centers.
