Beschreibung
Towards Territorial Transition presents new spatial strategies, concepts, and approaches for shaping large-scale and transnational developments in architecture and urban design towards decarbonization and ecological transition. The contributions investigate interactions between ecological and resource-related systems and landscapes. They explore potential solutions to address and deal with the dramatic threats posed by climate change, and with the social crisis that may emerge from them. The book introduces six basic terms of territorial transitionTerritory, Scale, Transition, Resource, Platform, and Uncertaintyand visualizes them with spatial strategies elaborated at the École nationale supérieure darchitecture Versailles and at Graz University of Technology. Moreover, it presents a selection of transnational projects of territorial transition, such as Luxembourg in Transition (Luxembourg / France), Grand Genève (Switzerland / France) and Top Noordrand (Belgium / Netherlands).
Autorenporträt
Matthias Armengaud ist Architekt und Gründungspartner von AWP office for territorial reconfiguration in Paris. Er lehrt als Gastprofessor an der ENSA Versailles und lehrte zuvor an der Harvard Graduate School of Design und am Berlage Institute der TU Delft. Aglaée Degros ist Professorin und Leiterin des Instituts für Städtebau an der Technischen Universität Graz sowie Honorary Science Fellow an der Freien Universität in Brüssel. Seit 2001 führt sie zusammen mit Stefan Bendiks das Büro Artgineering in Brüssel, das sich der Verbesserung der Beziehungen zwischen Landschaft, Stadt und Infrastruktur widmet. Radostina Radulova-Stahmer ist Mitbegründerin des Forschungs- und Planungsbüros Studie3R in Graz. Daneben ist auch als Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Städtebau an der TU Graz tätig.
