The Amazons ecology and history of inhabitation are deeply intertwined with the natural world. In this issue of gtapapers, researchers from diverse backgrounds lend their voices to challenge conventional narratives of colonization and modernization. By highlighting the importance of Indigenous knowledge and the pressing need for ecological reconciliation, it advocates for an intercultural understanding that respects and integrates myriad ways of being within this vast region. Contributions range from the theoretical to the practical, including analyses of the forests architectural or metropolitan qualities and Indigenous cosmologies to urge plural conceptions of one of the worlds most vital ecological and cultural landscapes.
