HINDSIGHT: Remembering the Cold War and Struggle against Dictatorship is a book of personal memoirs covering the years before the Pacific war, the Cold War, martial law in the Philippines, the authors escape from the long arm of repression, and his participation in the struggle against the Marcos dictatorship. He returned to the Philippines during the peoples uprising in 1986 only to see another ruling elite take over the country. As a retired academic, he is once again involved in the peoples movement to prevent the rise of another despot.

Elmer A. Ordonez, PhD, is a retired professor of English from the University of the Philippines. He has published at least 18 books in the genres of literary criticism, Joseph Conrad, social and political commentary, fiction, poetry as well as creative non-fiction.
