Ancient Egypt, a topic generally taught at the middle level, is covered in varying degrees of depth. While historians have demonstrated their expertise on the subject, textbooks and trade books often provide superficial coverage of ancient Egypts rich culture. State and national initiatives, however, compel educators to incorporate several distinctive types of texts, including trade books, into their instruction. As a result of this requirement, it becomes necessary to evaluate how ancient Egypt is represented. These findings will allow educators to effectively supplement their curriculum with quality resources.
